Name-Based Case Searches
No public PeachCourt control promises a broad Macon County party-name search. So classify the court first. A felony, divorce, or broad civil matter belongs to Superior Court. Minor civil claims and garnishments point to Magistrate. City traffic tickets and ordinance cases go back to the municipal clerk that issued them.
- Read the citation, filing stamp, caption, or notice to identify the court.
- Open the Georgia E-Access directory and locate Macon Superior when that is the right court.
- Follow the provider path, register for PeachCourt if needed, and choose Macon County and Superior Court.
- Use the exact case number when known. If only a name is known, ask the clerk about the available name-index method.
- Review possible matches by court, case style, filing date, and status instead of relying on the name alone.
- If nothing appears, check Probate, Magistrate, Juvenile, or the correct municipal office.

| Name | Clerk request | Not specified | Public help does not promise a Macon party-name field |
Macon County PeachCourt Account Gate
PeachCourt is the electronic front door for Macon County Superior Court. Logging in takes an email and a password. Anyone can register, not just attorneys, and the account is free. The sign-up asks for your first and last names, email confirmation, password confirmation, a secret question with an answer, reCAPTCHA, and acceptance of the terms.
An account is not a promise that every Macon County case is online. Coverage varies by court. Sealed files, adoption-related material, and other excluded records stay off-limits no matter what.
The official registration screen displays the fields the public must fill in.

This screen shows the account step that precedes most Superior Court search and document controls.
Case Number Searches
PeachCourt's own support pages describe the Cases search. It works with county, court, and an exact case number. Macon County publishes no confirmed local format or prefix. So use the precise number printed on whatever the clerk, a filing, a citation, or a vendor gave you. Never copy a Cobb County example into a Macon field.
A safe way to think of it: [exact clerk-issued Macon number]. Keep the punctuation and any leading zeros intact. A Peach number is a different animal; it marks a filing route and belongs in the Filings search. If a number fails, first rule out typos, the wrong court class, an older paper file, restriction, or a provider gap. Only then assume no case exists.
Macon County E-Access Routing
Georgia Courts E-Access works court by court as a directory. It lists Macon Superior but sends you to a provider rather than returning results itself. Georgia's E-File directory separately names PeachCourt as mandatory for Macon Superior Court. Access and filing are cousins, not twins.
| Route | Purpose | Macon County limit |
|---|---|---|
| Georgia E-Access | Find the court and provider path | Directory, not one search box |
| PeachCourt Cases | Search participating Superior case data | Account and exact number may be needed |
| PeachCourt Filings | Find a filing by Peach number | Not a broad party search |
| Clerk channel | Confirm official record and older material | Must contact the correct court office |
That structure is why a statewide directory hit is never itself a Macon County docket result.
Case Search Results Explained
A Superior case page can carry enough detail to identify the matter and follow its register of entries. Even so, it is an index view. It does not promise the whole file sits online.
| Case identity | Court, case number, filing date, case style, and case type where available. |
|---|---|
| Assignment | Assigned judge, status, and attorneys. |
| Criminal detail | Charges, co-defendants, disposition and date where public. |
| Calendar | Calendar events and setting history. |
| Register | Docket proceedings in chronological order. |
| Documents | Links to available images, which may require payment and may exclude restricted items. |
Read a motion as a request, not the order deciding it. Read an old setting as a date, not a result, since a later reset may have moved it. Status and disposition are separate things too.
When Macon County Results Are Blank
A blank screen proves nothing. It can mean the wrong court, a mistyped number, an older paper file, a restricted matter, or a vendor coverage gap. Verify the filing court first. Then compare the number against the original paper.
PeachCourt publishes a missing-case request route. It asks for your account email plus either a CaseDocket URL or the county, court class, and case number. Its public example comes from Cobb County, so do not treat it as a Macon number model. If the vendor cannot supply the case, call Terresena H. Harp's Superior Clerk office at 478-472-7661. You can also request the record in writing.
Ask too whether a free public terminal exists. Macon County has published no current terminal policy.
Two Ways to Search: County and State
Georgia has no statewide public database combining every Macon County court. The state layer helps route a request. The actual records live at the county and city level.
| Georgia directory layer | Macon County court layer |
|---|---|
| Lists courts and provider routes | Supplies the clerk or participating case system |
| Useful when the provider is unknown | Useful when the court and case are known |
| Does not combine all local results | Still split among Superior, lower, and city courts |
| No universal Macon name search | Exact number and clerk help are strongest |
Magistrate's nCourt page covers filing and payment choices, not a full public docket search. City payment portals are not complete registers either.
Macon County Clerk Search Fallbacks
For Superior records, visit 121 South Sumter Street in Oglethorpe. You can also call 478-472-7661 or write to P.O. Box 337, Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068. Counter hours run weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Confirm mail, fax, terminal, fee, and turnaround details before you send anything.
The other offices have their own numbers. Probate uses 478-472-7685, and Magistrate uses 478-472-8509. Montezuma Municipal Court takes 478-472-6260 extension 2; Oglethorpe City Hall, 478-472-6485; Marshallville, 478-967-2535; Ideal, 478-949-2720. Give each office the court and the case or citation number. Include the record type and a date range. A precise request beats a broad one every time.
Which Cases Stay Restricted
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 starts from openness. Court files stay public unless a law or a valid restriction order says otherwise, and Rule 21.6 together with O.C.G.A. 9-11-7.1 shields sensitive identifiers. Juvenile material, sealed files, adoption-related records, protected filings, and certain document images may therefore be absent from ordinary Macon County docket search results.
Restriction comes in more than one flavor. A restricted case, a sealed file, and a state criminal-history restriction are three different things, so ask the clerk whether the case-level docket is public, whether only one document is withheld, and what motion, order, or proof is required. A blank result is not proof of erasure. The public case heading can remain visible even while one filing inside it is blocked. Paper can still wait at the counter.
Federal Searches Are Separate
Macon County sits inside the Middle District of Georgia. That federal court runs on CM/ECF and PACER rather than PeachCourt, and the official CM/ECF information screen identifies the separate system that handles its electronic filings.

This screen prevents routing errors. Sending a Macon County state case to a federal clerk gets it nowhere, so the split matters before any filing begins, and PACER serves as the federal account gateway for that side.

PACER searches federal district, bankruptcy, and appellate cases only. The PACER Case Locator explanation describes the party, court, and date fields it returns, none of which come from any county court docket.

Those fields belong to the federal layer alone. Party, court, case number, filed-date, and closed-date information there never comes from a Macon County court docket; for participating Macon Superior records, the PeachCourt login remains the proper account gateway.

The contrast keeps the Macon County Superior search separate from PACER's federal search.
Macon County Court-Level Search Check
Stop guessing at spellings. The court level often tells you more than another search attempt. Superior Court of Macon County holds felony, broad civil, divorce, and domestic-relations registers. Magistrate Court covers minor civil claims, garnishments, warrants, and other lower-court matters. Probate Court holds estates, wills, guardianships, and other statutory files. Juvenile records follow separate confidentiality rules. Each city keeps its own traffic and ordinance docket. The official tables list no Macon State Court.
Let the caption and stamp pick the route. Superior papers belong with PeachCourt and the Superior Clerk. A Magistrate claim can use nCourt to file or pay, but that service is not a public case register. Citations naming Montezuma, Oglethorpe, Marshallville, or Ideal start with that city. Appeals change the map. An appealed city decision may later appear as a Superior filing, while the original municipal docket stays with the city clerk. Search both only when the record shows that link.
Older Macon County records may never have received a vendor image, so go to the clerk with specifics. Offer an approximate filing year, party names only as needed for identification, the case type, and any number printed on the old paper. Then ask where the index lives. It may sit in a docket book, paper file, microfilm, or archive.
